The direct reaction of (E)-4-((2-fluorophenyl)diazenyl)-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde with 2-Aminothiophenol generated a azo dye ligand and its metal (II) complexes with the formula ML4Cl2, where M= Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Hg. Analytical, Infrared, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, and Mass spectra The Schiff base azo dye ligands and their metal complexes have been tested for their antimicrobial activity by MIC method.
