Nowadays, many armed conflicts destroy everybody’s lives regardless of who they are and violate the people’s fundamental rights, including the right to health. As fighting continues, more people die daily, especially vunerable groups such as children and the elderly, who are particularly affected due to their limited physical resilience. Although some conventions required parties to a conflict to collect and care for the wounded and sick in war, few countries that strictly implement these regulations. Therefore, this article will analyze the challenges of armed conflicts for public health, thereby propose some solutions for states, as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations, to protect the right to health of children and the elderly in armed conflicts.
