Supply chain integration and perceived financial performance among mangers in cement manufacturing firms in Tororo, Uganda

Firms in Tororo, Uganda. It focused on three dimensions of SCI: information sharing, collaborative awareness, and decision synchronization. Guided by Supply Chain Integration Theory and the Resource-Based View (RBV), the study adopted a pragmatic philosophy and a cross-sectional mixed-methods design. Data were collected from senior and middle-level managers using stratified sampling, while key informants were purposively selected. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively and qualitative data through thematic coding.
The findings revealed that SCI positively influences perceived financial performance by improving coordination, collaboration, and operational efficiency. Among the three dimensions, decision synchronization had the strongest influence. The study concludes that strengthening information-sharing systems, promoting collaboration with supply chain partners, and synchronizing decisions across procurement, production, and distribution can enhance both operational efficiency and financial performance. Treating SCI as a strategic capability is therefore essential for improving outcomes in the cement manufacturing sector.
